Active Dreaming: Dream Theatre*

Dreams are entertaining! Each night your dreams provide lively entertainment via creative story lines and interesting characters. Some of the biggest box-office hits ~ Terminator, Avatar, and the Twilight series ~ and classic childhood thrillers ~ Frankenstein and Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde ~ were inspired by a dream!

Dream Theatre is a spontaneous, fun way for children to learn that their dreams are stories. As directors of their own dream stories, participants in Dream Theatre will learn how to share their dreams, cast their dream characters, direct their dream play, and bring their dream story alive for fun and entertainment.

Active Dreaming: Dream Art

Dreams are colorful! The dreamscape is a canvas where one’s imagination paints lively characters in colorful combinations ~ like polka-dotted kangaroos and rainbow-colored fish!

Dream Art is a creative, hands-on approach for children to learn how to bring their inner, creative vision to life in art. Participants will learn how to share their dreams and bring them alive through color and texture.

Active Dreaming: Dream Writing

Dream Writing is the best-kept secret of creative writers! Four famous books, inspired by a dream are: Misery ~ written by Stephen King; Frankenstein ~ written by Mary Shelley; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde ~ written by Robert Louis Stevenson; and the incredibly popular teen book and movie series, Twilight ~ written by Stephenie Meyer.

Dream Writing is an exciting way for young writers to learn how to work with their dreams for story lines and character development. Dream Writing participants will learn how to share their dreams, play creative writing games, and have fun in the process. Who knows? Your next dream might turn out to be a story that is waiting to be told in print, on stage, and in film!
